In loving memory of our Red Eared Slider Yagami who will be missed, but remebered forever.

Yagami was dropped off at a local pet store and rescued by us in the spring of 2010. We fell in love with her from the first moment we saw her and could not wait to bring her home with us. She was a strong and brave turtle who loved to bask even with people in the room, you could put your face right up to the tank and she would just stick her head out and smile at you with that turtle smile that they have. We always said that she looked like she was snickering at you. She brought a little joy to our day everyday and even a few moments of panic when she decided she had enough scrubbing and bit Lisha once, but she was still a sweetheart though and we loved her still. We will miss singing silly songs to her and watching her dance when she was wanted food Yagami was a good friend to both of us and will have a special place in our memories forever .

Greg and Lisha want Yagami to know that we were glad that we got to be with her on her last day and at the time of her passing and hope that she somehow knew how much she was loved by us.

On the day we had to end her suffering a song called "What sarah said"  by Death Cab for Cuite became extermly meaningful to us.  The song lyrics follow below modified by Greg to match his experiance that day.  This is the song playing in the background  while you view this memorial to a great pet.

And it came to me then
That every plan
Is a tiny prayer to father time
As I stared at my shoes
 In room number 2
That was too small for all of us
And I rationed my breaths
 As I said to myself
That I'd already cried too much today
As each moment passed
 you slipped into sleep
Took you a little farther away from me
 Away from me
Amongst the vending machines
 And year old magazines
In a place where we only say goodbye
It sung like a violent wind
 That our memories depend
On a faulty camera in our minds
And I knew that you were truth
 I would rather loose
Than to have never lain beside at all
And I looked around
At all the eyes on the ground
 As the radio entertained itself
Cause there's no comfort in the waiting room
Just nervous paces bracing for the end
And then the vet comes round
 And lifts your head
But I'm thinking of what Sarah said
That love is watching someone die
So who's gonna watch you die
